Goderich Chess Club welcomes all chess enthusiasts to join us every Tuesday, 6-8 PM, at Goderich Library (52 Montreal St), and every Friday, 6-9 PM, at Goderich Legion. Admission / membership is free.

Whether you are a seasoned player looking to sharpen your skills or a newcomer eager to learn the game, this is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of chess. Engage in fun and challenging matches while making new friends along the way.

Code of Conduct

Club Rules

  1. Treat all members, volunteers, and venue staff with respect and courtesy, regardless of skill level or experience.
  2. Play fair - no illegal moves, outside assistance, or use of phones/engines during a game.
  3. Keep noise to a considerate level out of respect for others sharing the space.
  4. Handle club equipment (boards, pieces, clocks) with care, and let a volunteer know if something is damaged or missing.
  5. Resolve disagreements calmly - ask a volunteer or arbiter for help if you need it.
  6. Follow the rules of whichever venue we're meeting at that day (Goderich Library or Goderich Legion).
  7. Disruptive, disrespectful, or unsafe behaviour may result in being asked to leave for the evening.
