Club growth

In our recent meeting, the club has seen an exciting influx of new members. It’s been great to watch the tables fill up with familiar faces and plenty of newcomers. We have now hit a new peak of 10 players / members. Here are some of the standout additions who’ve joined lately:

Several adults new to in-person chess — some relocating to Goderich or nearby towns along Lake Huron, others rediscovering the game after years away. One newcomer mentioned joining after seeing the club’s simple website and deciding it was time to step away from the screen and learn chess in-person.

A couple of enthusiastic beginners from the area — including a few younger players who’ve been inspired by chess at their school and are now ready to prepare for their next school tournament.

If you’re in the Goderich area and have ever been curious about chess—or if you’ve played a bit and want consistent opponents—the club warmly invites you to drop by any Tuesday. No rating required, no commitment needed.

To the new members: welcome aboard! Your energy is already making Tuesday nights more exciting. Here’s to many great games, surprising checkmates, and new friendships formed over the board.
